I could not spend money on contractors because I am in an expensive market and I did not want waive a giant financial red flag of concern in front of my wife. 

Two questions:- all things considered: is this a giant red flag for you, too?

Am I the only one who read a long list of "investments" the city is going to make with borrowed money even as they are still struggling financially, have a giant list of debtors and last I knew had more people retired on the payroll than actually working?

It seems like a giant movie Octopus eating a grain of sand.All of this rigamoarol just to buy 3 or 4 SFH's.Wouldn't it just be simpler to own them yourself with your own money.Without all of the regulatory and financial overhead eating into the profits?
