Now here comes the sticky point. 

They can get sticky from use and tenants can pop them off and drop them.I think if the utilities are subsidizing and your long-term tenants get them, then it's a push for landlords.

I just would hate to get in a sticky situation, I surely will do more research and ask some hardmoney lenders if this would be an issue. but sometimes I think its better to take action and ask for forgiveness later, as long as it doesnt mean getting into some serious trouble or breaking the law

The seal can rip if they have kids that put drinks on the door, especially glasses of coke that spill and run down the inside to dry on the bottom of the door, making the seal sticky.
