@Guy-yes agreed with the contract...had a good teacher to make them as specific, air tight (as can be) , and with my lawyer to protect my interest and money.

@Thomas Lorini - I use 100% legal homes,with fire extuinguishers and alarms to air egress windows, no question everything is above board.I use a PM who charges about 9%/month management plus $200/lease.

In a recent house, we found:- Lots of ammunition (sold it in bulk for $500 to a gun collector from Facebook)- Baseball cards (sold 4 cards for total of $200 on eBay)- Large Buck knife collection (sold most of them for $600 on eBay, saved a few)- Several thousand comic books (book value probably $1000-3000, though we haven't sold them yet)-  About two dozen books from the 1800s, in very good condition (likely not worth much, but very cool, and there is one book that has a good story to go with it that might help me to meet Neil deGrasse Tyson)-  An air rifle from the 1870s.

Now that I officially know about the mold, I may have to pay about $20K (2 estimates so far) to clean it up, taking it back to the studs in some places, pulling back the baseboards in others, then cleaning with sporicide and doing air scrubbing in order to get an official clean bill of health since i can't rent or sell without that, having officially established that I have mold.

I custom built my house and even after having an air tight contract, I had to fight with them (and give in a bit) to get a contract release so that I could convert my construction loan to a permanent loan.Would need to understand your situation and chronology to understand where you stand.Did you have a direct contract with each contractor?
