My personal choice is either a Wyoming or New Mexico LLC, for differing reasons - mostly to do with privacy/cost/ease.The REALLY big thing, though, is to start getting property if you haven't.

Your situation would be quite different if the duplex was in New Mexico or Florida.

I was born and raised in El Paso, TX but have live in New Mexico, Arizona, Mexico City, Puerto Rico, and briefly in Honduras.

One such fairly large community is based in Mexico and they follow agorism and some kind of bartering strategy (trade chickens/eggs for vegetables, bullets for food, etc.) 

I don't understand why it would be difficult to get conventional financing if you already have US assets as collateral, what's the difference between a Californian buying in Florida versus living in Mexico and buying in Florida.

We own in Canada, US, Costa Rica, and Mexico.

We live on the water, with incredible lifestyle, weather, restaurants, night life, close to mexico, thriving economy with massive development happening, massive military bases, huge amounts of investor capitol, etc.
