There are so many things that you can do in real estate, that it's easy to get distracted by all of the paths you can take.

It takes a long time to litigate a case and it's very draining and distracting.

There are many choices: wholesaling, flipping, buy/rent/hold, office, retail, development, multifamily, etc.There will be many distractions that come across your desk, but once you know what category of real estate investing you want to pursue you need to put the time in to be the expert.Since you commented here on my post I will take the liberty that you want to pursue apartment investing.Next question you need to ask is - Why Apartments?

Don't get distracted by daydreaming and don't spend too much time reading/thinking/worrying about how to do steps 15-20 if you're still on step 2 or 3.

But sometimes you get a good presenter and you hear the message, and are not distracted by crappy language skills, bad grammar, and a horrible sales pitch that plays on the same selling techniques I've seen too many times..

Furthermore, in the early hours of the day (or later hours) you will find no distractions that would otherwise normally deter your efforts

This is a business so we should not let our emotions distract us from the right things to do.

You might have to hire an attorney and/or a CPA to advise you the best way to go with incorporation.Another thing you should consider doing is to make an office location that is convient and has minimal distractions.  

I don't want it to distract from my motivation to make money in a different way than the majority of people that have told me to take the "safe route" and find a nice paying job. 

Wholesaling is not easy either, but a good way to start for those without credit or cash.Pick one focus that meets your personality and skills and stay focused on it without allowing other business models to distract you.
