Again, none of this is to take away anything from folks who have found a niche, local industry, or workplace sector (I’ve heard of many folks supporting folks like traveling nurses or airline employees).

If you can find evidence, or have an idea of where the mouse has been and the paths it tends to travel, disturb all around those areas daily (especially after dark), by vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, moving items, etc.

Had a leak in water system after installing floor, the place flooded and we just shop vacuumed it out.

This is a relationship business and a people business, which luckily affords us the opportunity to inject our own understanding and compassion into a situation, much like an airline with bereavement fares.

Or just like the airline industry they are not charging cancellation fees.. and I bet some hotels are doing the same thing..

They'll move in and see problems and complain about the smallest, weird things.Whereas, if you wait and show it while it still smells like fresh paint and the carpets have stripes from the vacuum cleaner, in their minds the place is in great shape and they will overlook things.It's the same idea as curb appeal.

Actually, what I probably would have done would be to vacuum up the water myself when it first happened, send the bill to the landlord for reimbursement (shop vac, dehumidifier, whatever), and looked for an alternative place to live rather than stay in a house with soaking wet carpets for 6 or 7 months.

If appliances were not included and tenant left their own behind (even if they are clean), that can be a separate haul away chargeDid not clean backsplashDid not clean bathroom - tub, toilet, etc.Floors - not swept, mopped, vacuumed, etc.Dead bugs and/or bug traps not removed and disposed ofTrash in yard - people forget that the yard is part of the property and also needs to be cleaned up.
