Perhaps I should have posted this in a lending section, because that's really all I'm doing - putting up X with the expectation of receiving Y returned in Z time. 

If it lists the other parcels and does not say something like 'on the deed transferring X, y, z the X property is being transferred to you'...you may have a title issue. 

Don't create more barriers for yourself to overcome by thinking that you "need" to do X, Y and Z before you start.

Make them truly understand that a home in x condition is only worth y, but you need to put z into it to achieve a resale value of a.
