LLC as Additional Insured - Does this pierce the veil?

Nathan, I had an LLC, but not for real estate, bought liability insurance, and the agent had me to also add an endorsement to cover me as an additional insured.I had spoken to attorneys here in NY about this issue, and I was advised by lawyers as well as my insurance agent that litigants normally sue the LLC as well as the owner by default.

Of course your insurance may try and indemnify, and hold harmless you, but that may be difficult unless it is stated in your contract, and that the GC is to endorse you for a period of time for product or operations.

The third is this: the additional interest endorsement is added onto the policy and gives no extra rights to the additional insured.
