I also saw a desire for HOA protection from extremes like junky cars up on blocks in the front yard, but much looser restrictions overall so that people could do what they wanted without a lot of interference, such as chicken coops, 4H projects, vegetable gardens, barndominiums, etc.

It also typically allows for the conversion from warehouse to manufacturing fairly easy which further increases the versatility of the property.

With furnished units the design is key - and if you've done a good job of keeping your "permanent" elements versatile and as timeless as possible, then you can change out the decor here and there to suit.

In addition, you could add small canopy's to the top of the windows for aesthetics and also as a sun block.Through both you will get alignment of the windows, some vegetation or color from the flower beds, and added aesthetics for a relatively cost efficient price.I agree with @Gilbert that earth tones might work really well with this very low rise complex particularly since you're wanting to avoid installing grass.
