I'm thinking long term rentals will be a good retirement plan.

I probably won't withdraw it, so the long-term tax savings and asset protections are appealing.Anything I am misunderstanding or not considering?

2) The minimum hours required are 750 hrs, but if running a short term rental, 100 hrs is supposed to be adequate, is that still true ?

House Hacking, STRs, Mid-Terms, and BRRRR are all solid strategies to explore.

We are considering investing in Houston as foreign investors (from Belgium), our goal is to find and start with a long-term rental single or multi family home. 

Some similar phone numbers and such to other short term companies that other people said were scams.

Long term/ short term rentals would work, ideally in the $400k range or lower. 

The worst part is they refuse to help me get the account back, quoting their terms of service and stating they are not liable for any issues with my account. 

just double checked my lender is now 80% LTV for short term rentals only 85% for long term rentals

Hello @Timothy Hilario,I think there are benefits to both strategies.If you move out of your apartment and rent it as a mid-term rental, you could see decent cashflow without pulling equity out of the unit.
