and here in Oregon we have not had major quake since 1995.. but they are predicting the mother of all quakes that will wipe out most of seattle and Portland and the coasts.. so I am with you there natural disasters are down the list.. every place has something.more people are killed in thunderstorm convective activity IE tornado's each year than anything else..

Settling will do that, which shouldn't be much concern, some of the micro fracking quakes can cause this as well down in the south.

I would paint fascia, shutters, garage door, new gabble and post a light gray.Add black sconce light(s) by front door.Add decretive black wrought iron hardware to garage door.I would choose a craftsman style front door with six panel windows to mimic windows on house and paint it a shade of blue or red.Remove shrub and add grasses and flowers with mulch between sidewalk and house to garage door and mirror the other side for balance.
