They analyze components such as cash flow, principal paydown, appreciation (both home and renovation), initial equity, depreciation, and interest deductions for tax savings, giving you a clear picture of individual gains and ROI over 30 years.

Talking to just 3 banks might not be giving you the full picture.

I would keep and organize all of your communication around this issue, including gathering pictures of the unit and the area in question that was repaired.

Also, looking at the bigger picture, if this remains contentious, good luck getting him to come back to address any warrantable repairs etc.

You should bill them both for the damages, take pictures and go to court.

Unfortunately, many make the mistake of solely looking at the numbers when that is not the entire picture.
