I moved here from a country in the Caribbean with a super high crime rate and very unsafe areas where I would never go, so I know it when I see it. 

I love the Caribbean islands!  

We invest in Belize, specifically on Ambergris Caye, and on the Caye it can be more expensive relative to other places in Central America (it is relatively cheap by Caribbean standards though), but the mainland of Belize is known for more affordable living.   

For cruises, I have been on Oasis of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world for a 7 day cruise in the Caribbean.

The reason why is that I am not even in the US yet since I am from a small island in the caribbean.

Since then, still not learning a significant command of the English language, not reading a single RE book or attending a seminar, not understanding the math of it, they have purchases several more B&H properties in the tri-state and the Caribbean area, all through word of mouth from family/friends about what a good deal is.

I have been looking at a few markets across the US, and am beginning researching the Caribbean, and Central America.  

Today we have 5 properties in Florida and the Caribbean: 4 rentals and one flip.

You need to get it inspected and do your due diligence just like anything else.Being from the Caribbean, a large portion of our homes have a septic tank.
