So that's the weirdest, here's the scariest (same house, no less):So if you don't recognize it: that's a ratcheting come-a-long (like you would use to pull a truck out of the mud) in the second floor, secured to a beam.

Owners trying to rehab themselves often don't know little tricks such as adding a spoonful of dish soap to their mud to help eliminate air bubbles (and thereby, an additional coat), or that the process of coalescence in exterior paint is negatively affected by an ambient and/ or surface temperature below 50 degrees.Being from Cleveland, unfortunately I can't much help with the Milwaukee area.

then you would need to redo the firewall which the last time I had to do that required insulation and two sheets of 5/8 drywall (literally a wall with one 5/8, taped and mudded then a second sheet of 5/8 over the top to create a 2 hour firewall between the units).
