In fact they seem to layoff alittleThere is job growth but most of them is in Healthcare where most jobs pay less than $50KInstead of all these negative factors, Houston population is still going up but I am not seeing the purchasing power in new comers. 10 years ago new comers were to be employed in oil and gas with higher than average salaries.

They didn't want to work, their pension was supose to be enough and over the last 40 years HMO's have ruined health care cost and big pharma that sells those little pills in India and Canada for like .25 a pill but charge $4.00 here in the US... well who saw that coming 40 years ago...

Also may be worth looking into furnished finder if you have any interest in renting to travel healthcare professionals or corporate rentals - I'm looking at buying another property in Nashville to rent out by the room as a furnished healthcare rental because the per room rents are a lot higher than a traditional rental.

As a card carrying blue state brie eating leftie I say….go for it.Like u said insurance doesn’t cover it and of course u would have liability issues if something went wrong…though remember they are likely to be less litigious and their health care is free (couldn’t resist)And you are there with your fate mostly in your own hands and control.
