When we visit our out of state properties once every year or so, if it's in the fall, we plan on seeding and distributing that moisture control stuff on top where needed, then watering ourselves each day we're there and hope for rain after.

I don't know if all the moisture in this photo was because the floor is soaked or if this is because they sprayed it with something.This is quite an aggressive home renovation they have done without even consulting me.

I imagine the allure type flooring would hold up even better to moisture but it's also about 1.49/sqft whereas laminate can be had for 0.29/sqft for something that might last 5 years and under 1/sqft for stuff that should last longer than that.

During my inspection, the inspector noted the issues mentioned in the termite and moisture report, as well as the following: - "There were signs of moisture intrusion at the subfloor/floor joist structure." - "There were one or more signs of fallen insulation in the crawlspace at the time of inspection.
