There are so many ways to get distracted by shiny object syndrome but focusing on what is that next step in the journey with actionable ways to get there is what it is all about. 

In fact, I got outta the game for several months due to personal distractions, and recently got restarted.

Also, if damage does occur or if an item goes missing, I think that I am going to be far more aware than someone that is hired to clean between guests and may be distracted or too in a rush and may miss important details.
