Real Estate Investors are all over, find you local RIA and attend or just speak to people on BP.

In addition, attend REIA meetings and study.

Hello - my wife and I are arriving in Jax this evening and we're planning on attending the jaxreia meeting to meet other like-minded people.

Attending either of those and meeting other investors would help you find a "mentor." 

What about attending sales meetings, going to company training events, phone duty, etc.There is a slight chance that your local MLS might allow you to join as an individual once you renew your license but that is rare from what I’ve heard and varies state to state.

I attend Frostburg State University in MD.

I attended one of this company's auctions last weekend just to get a feel for how these private estate auctions go, and it kind of went like this: auctioneer asked for an opening amount, no one bid, one of the auctioneer helpers bid it lower, then some people started chiming in, and it went back and forth between a few people before finally ending about 25% higher than the number the auctioneer started at.
