The listing agent (at least in WA so I can only assume elsewhere...) cannot withhold knowledge of a material defect, well, they can, but they could be held liable later by a court and/or their MLS.

The wall in the back of the first floor jutted out and needed to have the pipes moved so I could regain 6 inches.I know 6 inches doesn't seem like much but let me remind you the above ground square footage is 469 sq ft, every inch counts.I was impressed. 

This would be in my hometown of Bellingham, WA.

Many rural areas that are already depressed are going to get hit hard, and they are going to expect Washington to do something for them.
