We were given a screenshot of 3 months worth of rent roll; a very generic screenshot as they said they could not get a copy from their property management.

I asked them why that is, and they said they don't know if it is all for rent or other delinquencies, so they put it in box 3, but I can just treat it as rent.Problem is, Turbotax does not allow me to link an amount in box 3 to a specific property in Schedule E. 2 hours on the phone with TurboTax support didn't really help, and a call to the IRS led me to an agent who had no idea what to do, and directed me to pre-recorder generic information that was not helpful at all.

Derrick: Just to verify it's actually in the City proper - not Plain or Canton Townships, etc... some folks use the term generically and don't realize where incorporation/JEDD lines are, which directly determines which utility services you have options on and which you are required to have.

Most are generic and provide only basic protection for the landlord.EXAMPLE: how do you legally determine when rent is late and a late fee charged?
