Just not responding at all or lying.In CA, it became popular among the corporate apartment communities to just answer with the dates of tenancy and if asked if they'd rent to them again, the pat answer (which must be taught in seminars, I swear) is "If they qualified again, I would rent to them again."

I do agree that if you have an apartment building and some section 8 and regular rentals among the units it can cause issues.
