My girlfriend was not notified that the service was being shut off.Furthermore, there was a break in by a homeless person, who used one of the bathrooms and stole property from the home.

I would hand that to my kids and leave a legacy to be proud of.Also, somewhere in the middle of this i would start giving back to the community by helping homeless vets and donating to non-peofits.

Later, she told me that she thought I was a bum and homeless. 

I was reading on Seattle and how they're adding all these regulations for business, thinking it will create more affordable housing, with no stipulation that the fees being charged go to affordable housing .. all the while homelessness in WA and CA is out of control. 

You are in BUSINESS, you're not that church or a homeless shelter. 

It was indeed a rollercoaster and I was deathly afraid of being homeless.

A part of me would speak "internal voice" why don't you go buy your own place where you can smoke inside (including weed), leave your space heaters unattended, have 20 plus smelly rabbits, bring in the homeless, pile up crap in the garage to where it is a no-walk or "walk at your own risk zone", drink and wake up every morning yelling and screaming at each other all while waking up the entire peaceful quiet cul de sac, change locks at will.......OMG the list goes on. 

Most are market tenants but we do have 1 section 8 and 3  that are placed with Catholic Charities and we are currently working with a non profit for the homeless to place some of their clients.We have actually found a fairly decent demand for one bedrooms here in the Baltimore area.I also have 9 detached single families in B neighborhoods. it still all comes down to tenant screening.

The local marketing company uses homeless people to hang them and gives them $25 per 4hr day plus a place to stay.

People who rent the homes are more-established, have better jobs and many people with retirement income move to Las Vegas, but there is a super high percent of transients and homeless people all over the streets in all parts of Las Vegas.
