Anyone investing on both sides of the border? 

The stairway borders the utility closet and so divides the space so that the 'bedroom' area maintains privacy.  

You get that by doing a title search.These transactions aren't nearly as formal as selling real estate.  

We can't keep our quality of life here if we leave our borders open and have no control over who is coming in.

Go to the introduction form and say hi, you may have neighbors that will notice you there.I'd say you can and I'd think they would recognize the term up there, I don't cross borders with my advice, but from what I see on here things are basically very similar. :)

Even if you have an LLC, you need to maintain the formalities of the LLC in order to use it as effective asset protection. 

I have 3 duplexes and 1 Quad in Minneapolis; it's time to formalize a bit and streamline processes. 

If you go close to Canada or maybe the northern VT border you will find those kinds of numbers but not in a nice tourist area like you are in.I will say that $200K sounds a little high, $180K is more in the ballpark with those rents.  

Make sure you set up a formal agreement between yourself and your father in regard to payback period, interest rate (or percentage of equity in your business), ect.

Not being experienced in this type of transaction, and living across the Ohio border in Kentucky, I was unprepared for the difficulty in finding insurance.
