Do the banks that you are having to jump through hoops for bear some responsibility for the predatory lending practices which caused a market collapse and created an inventory of REO property for you to chase?

This time the housing market collapsed not because of the rate, but because of the low credit quality and the super high leverage of the housing market.

in my simple mind, the worst case is that the global economy collapses (assume worse than '08) so it might be hard to maintain rents at current levels but with no mortgage to cover, the break-even rent has to be fairly low (i.e. the rent needed to cover ALL monthly expenses) and its unlikely we couldn't find someone to rent it at the break-even if needed.  

There is still room for growth and now there are more buyers inquiring than anytime since the market collapse.  

I've had both blow up in the past and collapse the ceiling below, buckle hardwood floors, etc.

A local economy might collapse because its major industry had been disrupted by a new technology (but hopefully one wouldn't invest in one-trick economies).  

As a result, subprime mortgage bond issuance is a tiny fraction of it was prior to the crisis.Lastly, the massive housing supply for sale during the collapse, pushed prices into free fall.

I guess you could get a judgment if needed to enforce the clause, but what good will that do you in the event of collapse?

I hope it's not something structural or that in the worst case the wall collapses.
