Building a home is a huge undertaking, and you can expect to be working with your builder for about a year to a year and a half.

However, I have also been involved in creating studies where LEED Certification and/or building under green standards, generally can been found to be minimally more money on the front end (Construction) with all  the savings/value on the back end (Consumption, maintenance cost, and resale values) that we would hope to achieve by undertaking a project of this scope.  

It doesn't sound like they are just too busy.Steve - If I need to follow up with a businessman so that he can get paid for undertaking work, I don't believe that he is qualified to do the job for me.

I am hoping the market stays with the low inventory during the time I hold this, as that will help drive my exit value up.This will be a major undertaking and I am considering having this project filmed for future use.

I would agree with those who have said to: not put ANYTHING on the internet (you said you've changed your name and other identifying information); and also, seek your own counsel, and if you can't afford it, you need to really communicate with the counsel your insurance carrier has provided.I won't go into graphic details, but I will say (as someone else alluded to above); people can seek whatever amount they want to; however, that does NOT mean that's what it will settle at.

I also have a retired developer that has developed and built big (70 units+) apartment complexes that has said he would mentor me if I undertake this.
