They mock you because their fragile ego is damaged because they don't have the guts to take a risk and potentially be successful and the fact you have the guts is seen - by them - as a personal attack against them. 

I personally couldn't do it as a matter of business practice.As an example; I understand why Colonial Pipeline paid off the ransomware attack as a business decision.

. =)Sadly, we actually did most of this without a plan whatsoever (and yet it still mostly seems to be working out), which I think is in part why I'm fascinated by the planning/strategies of others who are attacking this more appropriately.
