Wait until you are sure it won't close by the deadline then extend...you aren't being unreasonable and they aren't going to want to go back on the market around new years.

That being said, if it is going to take longer, I find it really unreasonable to expect a tenant to deal with unfinished floors in their bedroom for more than a day or two and even then I would probably put them in a hotel or at least prorate their rent.

You can find list of Fulton county ordinances here https://library.municode.com/g... under section 14 Once you are able to find the ordinance then read through the same thing cuz it may clear some doubt or cause additional ambiguity I would then contact an attorney to draft an email to the city if you feel that you are being charged unreasonably.
