The uncle was very proud of the fact that he wasn't using any nails at all in the framing...only drywall screws: every joist hanger, every beam, etc.    

When his renovation crew was working on the property, the plywood came off the front door and was nailed back on every evening.

The runner is probably stapled/brad nailed to the wood steps just under the rounded lip of the tread and at the bottom of each riser, if there's no padding underneath.

The agent will be fighting tooth and nail for that commission. 

At first I tapped drop cloths over the windows with finish nails complete with fancy little folds, but on my last house I used that white  painters' plastic and taped it to the exact shape of the glass.

I don't know if this nails  it completely but it does speak to all of the comps in the area being about the same.
