There is no issue with taking joint title with an unrelated party, or with Tenants In Common.In addition to the SAFE Act/Dodd Frank, Texas has predatory lending and dealing laws, even the 4 largest cities (could be more) have similar ordinances with RE sales.If this is an investment property you'll be exempt from SFE/Dodd under commercial lending aspects, but not all the predatory lending matters, so, yes you can obtain a SF loan jointly but you need to see your attorney!
