This means that you will probably need to pay registration and filing fees in at least 2 states if you don’t buy CA property as a CA resident.Be sure to tell your accountant that you may now need to file non-resident income tax returns in each state where you own property as well.

While reviewing the landlord registration forms, I saw a remark stating that if the property owner does not live in the same county as the property location, the owner must choose an in-county representative to receive official documentation on their behalf.

You could still buy the property with your WY Holding LLC, but you may need to file a registration with the Secretary of the State of the state your are investing in to obtain financing.
