The factors to consider are your overall objectives, your credit score, DTI and personal financial condition I recommend you find a broker or originator whom you can trust and have them weigh your options.

I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to help me build a credit profile/score for my company which will be independent of my personal credit.

When you specifically mentioned STR experience and the possibility of something with some added "personal value" bells started going off.

I've found the people who want to charge for their time and "mentorship" typically need the money because they are struggling- maybe not the best person to take financial advice from. 

I'm now finally here in person, and have started to go view places in person with the intent of purchasing.
