In college, I matured in ways that went far beyond what I was learning in my classes (and I also learned a lot from my classes).Now, having said all that--a lot of what you get out of college depends on what you put in--and this is especially true with the social aspect of college (if you hide in your room playing video games all day, you might not make many significant social connections).Also, obviously college is not the only way to have these social experiences--clearly, you can meet people and form connections in innumerable formats.
