You can go with a textured finish to hide minor imperfections, which is why textured ceilings are so popular.I think drop ceilings are cheap quick-fix options that don't hold up well in heavy-use rental properties in the C and D-classes.

Since the house is on a crawl space you'll probably need to do the upgraded stuff with the backing on it because the glue down will show every imperfection or crease in the subfloor.

I personally would also try and get some better photos, it seems like you are getting showings but I think the photos are lacking, better photos I think have the potential to greatly increase the chance of getting someone to 'fall in love' with the home before they ever get their in person which sometimes is all we need for them to view minor imperfections with rose-colored glasses versus looking for reasons not to buy.I know their is no silver bullet in there but just my thoughts, overall though, it's a good neighborhood and seems to be priced fairly.
