Or alternatively if the owner walks away, and the bank decides to sell the NP'ing note ... does the insurance coverage convey with the note since the bank presumably required to be listed as additionally insured on the flood insurance policy (if the property was in the flood zone and one was required)?

Chase bank recently requested I add this into the listing agreement (LA) I have with the seller:  "SELLER MAY CANCEL THIS AGREEMENT PRIOR TO THE ENDING DATE OF THE LISTING PERIOD WITHOUT ADVANCE NOTICE TO THE BROKER, AND WITHOUT PAYMENT OF A COMMISSION OR ANY OTHER CONSIDERATION IF THE PROPERTY IS CONVEYED TO THE MORTGAGE INSURER OR THE MORTGAGE HOLDER.

The process is, for example: 1) Monday: Escrow Agent records the A-B conveyance of title with the county. 2) Tuesday: The A-B is considered "closed". 3) Wednesday: Escrow Agent records the B-C conveyance.
