I would do nothing except give him your condolences for his injury. 

May be worth it for your reputation (at the very least) to allow them a grieving period - Wish them well, pass your condolences, then bring up the move later.

My just got a condo late March this year, and early May the condo association told me there was a leakage in my kitchen faucet / garbage disposal that led to water leakage in the units underneath me (two units since the middle unit is vacant and they didn't realize).

He called to give me his condolences for me being a part-time landlord.

I've also thought about writing a letter that starts something like, "First and foremost, let me offer my condolences to you.

I'm wondering if I should follow up with a condolence letter and still let them know I am interested in the home so they don't have to go through the trouble of listing it and whatnot?
