Initially when I read about the 50% rule I thought that my two rentals were bad deals, however for some reason I completely missed that escrow is part of the 50% expenses until @Jon Holdman mentioned it in another thread I read today.That puts a different spin on things and I'd love confirmation that my math is right.

So rather than leave you with a negative answer, I'll put a positive spin.

Although it isn't a significant amount of debt, that interest rate is likely much higher than you'll ever see in your high yield savings account so you're spinning your wheels IMO.

Then it's just a matter of spinning your ad to help potential renters appreciate the home.Average price is probably meaningless, because the range of prices is huge.

Certainly CEOs of major corporations, or even not so major ones are continuously involved in their businesses.I really think its something of a myth that you can create some sort of business that will just run itself and spin off cash without any involvement on your part.If you have enough investments, you can certainly live on the income produced by those investments.

They do not claim to be real estate invesors, but over the past 10 years and an accidental decision to buy some land and build their dream home later to change their minds and sell the land subdivided and making 100k in a year, their minds started spinning.
