There is a report from a structural engineer stating the house is sound, but it's an old house on a hill and has settled significantly.There is evidence they tried to fix it at some point- steel beams and footers in the basement and a newer wall along one side of the basement.I've made an offer and got a counter from the bank. 

For my initial application, in my renovation plans, I did not include knocking down a load bearing wall and inserting a beam.

I have done this on several pier/beam additions I've done and it always looks nice.

Hi guys,I recently bought a Canon laser printer to use for my direct mail campaigns and I bought some postcards to try out.

With all the block-and-beam foundations around here, I have no desire to crawl under the foundation and spar with black widows, scorpions, and hormonal gophers.

As others said, he may need to size beams.

@Charlie John @Joy Panebianco @Zana Blue here are some of the before pictures of the remodel.This is a picture of the front room with the kitchen being to the left in the picture.We removed the wall between the front room and kitchen to make the kitchen more open and added a new support beam and two supporting post because the wall removed was load bearing.These are the walls built to support the ceiling while the kitchen wall was removed and new posts and beam was installed.Wall removed and new posts and beam installed.
