There are a few pockets that resemble North Park with beautiful restored homes, owner occupied, etc.  

In the next 6 months or so my roommate will be moving out and I've decided to live in my brothers furnished basement, and rent out my condo.

@Glenn R. the high end rents all depend on the area, community, market etc... for example, I have a home in Windermere, Fl that is gated 5 bed, 5000+ sq. ft with a pool that is worth a million and rents for $5800, I also have one that is in the guard/ gated community of windermere/Isleworth that is a 2/2 furnished for $5000.

No doubt in mind that it can't work. i woulld like to find a place that doesn't need to much work that way you can list it as soon as you furnish it (within a week) and do the minor repairs during the weekdays when the property is vacant.

After many years of flipping houses I came up with a business plan to buy a large house, fix it up and rent it fully furnished nightly to large groups of 15 guests. 

I'd price utilities into the rent, I'd also provide basic furnishings to mitigate move in/out damage. 

May need about 5k in immediate touch ups and repairs but could be rented out immediately after furnishing (if I went the short-term route).  

Looking for hot markets for vacation rentals with cost, or even turn key rental properties that are already furnished!

My plan for the time being is to purchase something that I could rent short term- furnished to traveling professionals or even Airbnb it.
