The RE broker found someone reputable and got back to me with a quote of $45K for the big office building and 40K for the smaller office building (would need to be done in next 3 years) – this would include tear down, using shingles that last 30 years, repairing mortar joints on chimney, etc.

Excellent reputation, and will add a lot more weight to your offer than a credit union.Also if the property is in DC proper....frankly you have very little chance of getting an offer accepted with an inspection contingency.

Number 2 downside he listed is not all turnkey companies are reputable and they may rip you off...now that’s ironic.Reminds me of a car mechanic who took me for a bit of a “ride” a couple years ago.
