I live and invest in Grand County, a ski resort/tourist area about an hour and a half outside of Denver.

The fact that investors are considering a hotel downtown is encouraging but more is needed to bring tourists especially with Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison near by.In my opinion, with the current Illinois debt and the conservative Governor's budget, the state is not likely to contribute much to the Amtrack expansion anytime soon.  

Converting your residential units into STRs can be a solution for certain otherwise-difficult units, but it's not a catch-all solution, and tourists don't like living in a basement cave any more than a resident does. 

In 2020, Covid19 hit the world, and Big Bear Lake is one of the most popular tourist destinations during this period.

It's still actively growing, and actvely hosting tourists. 

All those are real towns rather than being tourist oriented.

It sits in a great location ( 2 minutes from prime shopping at the Premium Outlets, 4 mins from Universal Studios, just off of International Dr which is prime for tourists and attractions).
