@Sam Cano Did you personally serve the notice in person to the tenant?

We will handle projects in other parts of the state when an investor cannot use a local crew that is proximate to the job site. 

If they continue smoking despite the warning, you can then serve them a formal notice addressing the problem.

Otherwise I am blessed to have great tenants and have never had to serve a 3 day.

I don't know where you live, but in California, I would immediately serve them with a 3-day notice to pay or quit.
