Run your business like a "business" and not a charity, you will sleep better at night.

Charity and assistance will only help them usually so many times before stopping.I do not enjoy residential real estate and all of the tenants life issues they try to push on the landlord for sympathy and non-rent or reduced rent payment continually.

@Bryant Brislin Between write offs from all of the stuff I give to charity and stuff that I sell on craigslist that is leftover from tenants I think I probably profit from leftovers..

You need to sit down and go through your numbers to determine if you are actually operating a business or a charity.

I would love to donate millions of dollars to charities all over the world.

I don't know but if you call the good will or another charity Im  sure they would be happy to take the furniture for free!

I am considering donating some weekend stays at my vacation rental for some charity events.

That money would be much better spent buying real estate or throwing Christmases hams out to my tenants with enough left over to donate to charity.
