That way you have straight cash flow from the 1 paid-off home and have freed-up one slot so-to-speak so you can purchase another property under your personal name and not go the commercial loan route.

While they are more specifically looking to the asset to service the mortgage, you'll still have to PG the loan, and they will still need to pull credit to make sure that they're lending capital to a responsible investor.
