Hopefully they start to reopen June 1 but I am concerned at how long it will take all the supporting business (restaurants, PMs, housekeepers, etc.) to staff up to really support the tourism influx once it comes.

There has been an uptick in outdoor recreation-based tourism there over the past few years (many of Colorado's 14ers are nearby), but the economy is still largely dependent on the Climax mine, which is dependent on the global demand for steel so it experiences large boom and bust cycles.

It’s hard to answer without knowing where they are, what the tourism market is like there, and what they cost/what other properties are making per year in the market.

I've read about extreme property tax increases, tourism tax, infrastructure issues, Health Dept.

When I was setting up manufacturing for a certain item (past life) I chose India as opposed to Vietnam or China.

You'd buy an old house that needs renovation, you'd renovate it and/or resell to a foreigner or rent short term if the city has enough tourism.

If the infrastructure is based on tourism and the tourism decreases/disappears, that dramatically impacts the housing market.

John -- The general mindset of a lot of these tourism focused areas is that air bnb is hurting the hotel industry (and presumably has more money/lobbying to throw at the issue).
