I'm purchasing this property in Elizabeth NJ and its pretty common to have oil tanks underground.

I've found @Elizabeth Wilson 's approach works a high percentage of the time.Create a document (2 copies), Surrender of Occupancy, note date, time, amount given and the statement:I am surrendering possession of the unit at ________________ on this date and have surrendered the keys for the amount noted above.both parties sign and exchange one copy

@Kitty Jedra I would agree with @Elizabeth J Humphrey and move it into a SDIRA to earn more and not be penalized for the withdrawal.I'm about to embark on the same thing to invest in notes with some of the IRA that will be a portion transferred over to a SDIRA.
