I wetted down some cardboard or some canvas drop cloths and spread them in the drop zone of splatter. 

Before you go giving it away to charities that feed, clothe or whatever in the now, why not use it for our future, you know we're going to need it.Find a non-profit, or even a for-profit for that matter, that teaches youth in middle school, high school and even college, the importance of self preservation and financial literacy.

have never used a car wash or don't even own a car, but everybody has to wash their clothes - hopefully on a repeat basis!

No animal feces under piles of clothes left behind? 

You'd probably have to spread it all over the floor, then sweep it up later, or put it on drop cloths and just wrap it up and throw it out.

For us, one time it was from damp gym clothes the tenant left in a pile in their closet.

I dont know if you are aware of this but if you have ever bought a car, clothing, a cell phone or a piece of gum the company that sold it to you made a profit.
