You can go out a rent yourself, and your rental will still count as a rental.If you are moving to Florida for a valid reason (new job, new business, be closer to parents, etc.) and can establish that this is not a strategic "move" (your child is enrolled in local school) you can buy a property in Florida as your primary residence.The rent credit will depend on your experience as a landlord and LTV of the outstanding loan.Hope this helps.Upen PatelMortgage Banker, VA Loan SpecialistNational Lender, Federal NMLS# 1374243

@Mark Ferguson  were this gets sticky for this wholesaler turned poster child  is for sure intentions if the state can pop on a website or craigs list and see a track record of the same type of transactions and or sepina tax returns ( I am sure all go wholesalers pay their tax's )  you can see what the intent was.As well as there is something called fraudulent inducement to contract.. in other words seller relies on fraudulent statements to go into contract IE this person telling the seller he is a cash buyer and will close..
