I recently got news that my first and only rental property was broken into while we've been trying to fill it, and the fridge, stove, washer & dryer were stolen.

If it is on your private land, the PD will not do anything remove it unless it happens to be stolen and they actually check the VIN.

When I came back, someone had stolen the anvil - but left all the copper.....

Big cash-flow is only gained 1 of 3 ways, it's either; (a) inherited, (b) earned via inputs and/or time, or (c) stolen and scammed via slum-lord tactics such as just not doing things to a normal legal standard. 

Some good and some bad...lots of small town drama and people having stuff stolen by Meth Heads. 

They want to make sure that the pipes have not been stolen or vandalized before turning on gas service.

Also try not to keep anything in there you don't want to risk getting stolen.

If you do an auction, be ready for pretty much everything to be wrong-- expect HVAC stolen/pipes blocked/rot/pests/stuff.   

They have literally stolen thousands of dollars from me, overcharged me hundred of dollars in management fees, refused to disburse collected rents to me.
