Matthew J. T. Letter of Intent Vs Purchase Offer
1 July 2011 | 16 replies
Hey Jeff,I don't disagree as it's a big purchase. Some lawyers can help and some can get in the way trying to bill more fees.I generally feel more comfortable if the buyers or sellers have had a relationship with their attorney for at least a few years rather than someone they just called up or don't know.I find that general practicing attorneys which some buyers and sellers use versus real estate attorneys can be hard to get a hold of and slow up a deal. The reason is they are in court handling cases and having the hand in multiple cookie jars instead of doing one thing.I always believe an extra set of eyes can be helpful and welcome it.
Cal C. Should I report this agent to the Board of Realtors or?

There is a good chance this agent was on a 50/50 split with his broker, lets not forget taxes, and all the other hands in the cookie jar, so for the sake of argument I'll assume the sales price was $100k, the agent might only be taking home around $2500 on the deal.
