They can be super safe and buy a 10-Year US Treasury, or they can get a little more "juice" to the return, accept a bit more risk, and buy a MBS.

While I could have attempted to enforce my lease agreement with her and insist she pay, I know I would ultimately have had to take her to small claims court if she refused and the juice wasn't worth the squeeze to me.

My main issue is that I feel the plans are somewhat recklessly promoted as the key to financial freedom that can't possibly backfire or have any downside.The overall impression from the users that I've talked with is that these plans can be useful to help add a little juice to your overall investment returns.
